Just Be Useful, Relentlessly Useful

Be Relentlessly Useful

I was talking to a room full of college students this week, and they asked the classic question: "What’s your best advice?"

My first thought — Make your boss’s life easier.

This was always a way for classic overthinkers like myself to strip away the noise and immediately add value.

If you solve problems and reduce friction for your manager, you win. You earn trust, get better projects, and become essential.

But in 2026, don't stop there. Be relentlessly useful to everyone.

Whether it's sharing what you know online or fixing a broken workflow for a teammate, be the person who reduces friction. Go out and unapologetically add value.

You don't need a long checklist. You just need to be the person who shares what they know and lifts up others.

Opportunities always find the helpers. A rising tide lifts all boats... be the tide.
